The city of St. Wendel is a paradise for golf players. The Wendelinus Golfpark fits marvellously into the hilly landscape at the outskirts of St. Wendel and is one of the most spacious golf courses in Germany. Mayor Klaus Bouillon found in the 'Golfanlagen Weiland GmbH' a competent investor, who, with a total investment of about 7 million Euro,  installed the large golf course with driving range, putting greens, public 9-hole course and a 27-hole course for championships, including the club house. The city of St. Wendel and the operator of the installation promote golf as a public sport. The schools for instance can use the public course free of charge.
